This is a good Chinese restaurant. The food is good. Service is good. The location is O.K. but they have parking spots.
For the last few months, I have made a habit to visit my favourite Vietnamese restaurant 1-2 times per week, hence the reason for my title. I've always been a buffet fan of Mai Phuong. When the dishes are fresh, you cannot go wrong. Unlike other buffet shops where staff hardly check to see if there is still food, the staff here are constantly checking and putting in fresh food. This wasn't always the case before, but there has been staff changes for the better. Sometimes I wonder why they put out more fresh piping hot food after 1pm. I know why now. A faithful following are not the 12-1 crowd, and I have noticed quite a few show up after 1 for the buffet. But enough on the buffet. I'm writing this review to let Regina know that if they want the best roasted duck, you don't need to look any further. This dish has become a favourite of mine. It is so good and I'm always sad when I get down to the last piece.
I went for the pho because everyone is raving about how awesome it is. Here's the scoop. The pho lacks substantially in flavour and the meat was below average quality. Large portions and nice staff. The pho here is definitely not better than pho in Calgary, Edmonton or Vancouver. But for whats its worth, probably the best in Regina. Hope this helps.
Usually order from lees North but closed today saw some reviews for this place never will I listen to reviews again....... Absolutely awful, ordered ginger beef (spicy) doesnt taste like any thing. No flavor at all no sauce. Veg undercooked, just chewy beef. Deep fried shrimp and chicken balls just tasted like grease. Ginger chicken surprise surprise tastes like nothing......... never seen so fat of a Vietnamese spring roll but I guess needs to be to suck up all the grease. Very disappointed very expensive. Costs $25 more for the same order from lees North.
This is the best buffet downtown. The food is prepared fresh as it runs out. The service is friendly and professional all the time. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. Huge fan here. I will be back with family and friends...
