Went in to look at bikes. Right away Emni came to assist us. She was outstanding, very helpful. Ended up buying two bikes and some gear.That was my previous five star post....now for the update.Update to my five star review becoming a one star review. Bikes were stolen, locks cut. Went back to sportchek and upon advice from staff bought a lock "that can't be cut". Second time locking up new bike, this lock also was cut, and bike stolen. Returned cut lock to sportchek, can't help you, contact the company. Contacted company numerous times, with photos, no reply from company. Complained to sportchek Canada, and again they refused to refund us for the price of the lock, but said they would "in good faith" offer us a discount if we want to buy another bike, and that they would help us make contact with the company for a refund. End of story......no coupon, no help contacting lock company....just a worthless couple of words from head office with no follow up. Very disappointing as with four active kids we have made sportchek our go to store....we will find somewhere else to spend our money.
Went into Sport Chek to pick up swimming goggles for my two daughters. Asked for help at the cashier desk and they paged Emny(?). Sorry but I'm sure I got that wrong. She was excellent. Asked detailed questions and then actually went to the back stockroom to get two pairs of what she thought would be best to buy but happened to not be on display. A++ for extra effort when she didn't need to and could have easily taken a much easier but less helpful route.
Very good sporting goods store,but mediocre service. I've been going here since it opened and the service has always been mediocre. Doubt that will ever change. If you know what you're looking for, and where to find it, this is the place for you. If you need help, you will spend significant time looking for someone, and they may or may not be interested in helping you when you do find them.
The clothes here are nice. But the store is stuffed full and it is difficult to sort through everything because it is packed so tight. I also find the size marked on the hanger is more often then not incorrect, the hanger will say large but the item on the hanger is a small. It is very frustrating to have to pull the clothes off the rack to try and find the size on the clothing itself. The staff seems friendly but no one asks if you need assistance or says hello.
Two different stores looking for a variety of shoes...not enough size 13 in stock. Wasted time. Frustrating. Staff were good and tried to be helpful.
