As someone who isn't crazy about hotels in the downtown core of any major city, I was pleasantly surprised by the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Regina. I thought it might be a little "sketchy" having stayed in other downtown hotels in Vancouver & Calgary (to be fair it was 1980, the oil & gas industry was booming and I had a room right next door to some "gentlemen" who were in town for some O & G Show so it wasn't like they were 'sketchy' but more of party types). The staff were excellent and I had no trouble at all with the parking. I will definitely go back.
Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and quick to accommodate my infant daughter. Breakfast was really tasty with lots of variety. Location is pretty convenient, right across from the mall and easy access to two main roads. Parking lot is quite small and it was a little loud at night (lots of sirens and noise outside), but not much the hotel can do about that. Overall great experience, we'll be staying there again.
Great economical, well maintained and designed hotel in extremely convenient location in Regina's central business district. I find the fitness facility and the inclusion of a hot breakfast buffet within standard overnight rates as constituting particularly good value-for-money. The noon checkout time is also conveniently generous. Whilst the hotel has a very convenient surface parking lot just outside, travelers should be aware that it does cost $15 extra per day. The presence of friendly staff further contributes to the strength of this hotel. Highly recommended!
Not too impressed with the quality of suites considering it is a little pricier than most. The walls are paper thin, so I was able to hear everything that was going on in the rooms besides me and above. Pretty noisy so I didn't get much sleep, especially when the room beside mine decided to have a 2 hour shower and I could feel the walls vibrating from water usage.Breakfast was also disappointing. The pancake machine wasn't working and the eggs were sloppy and cold.I feel like if you are staying at a mid range hotel downtown, there are a lot of better options.
I was rather excited when I noticed the reasonable price of this hotel, but that's where it ended.... they have a public pay parking lot. Excellent, on the door is says patrons notify staff of vehicle. Non guests, please pay for parking. Okay great, sign the papers for the rate of $102. Only to be charged $117... surprise!! Never was I told there was a 15 dollar fee, and the front desk response was, o its standard at hotels..... Uh, hell no. I havent had to pay to park on top of an overpriced bed at a hotel. Even in downtown vancouver.So holiday inn express.. I bid u farewell as I'm sure theres plenty of hotels with more integrity
